Texas Mesquite Cutting Board with Live Edge Corner

This mesquite cutting board is built around one of the most dramatic grain figures we've seen — a bold knot cluster at the center sends sweeping grain lines radiating outward in every direction, with deep, dark tones shifting from rich reddish-brown to near-black across the surface. Natural checks from the knot have been filled with black food-safe epoxy, reinforcing the wood while adding a refined, intentional contrast. A live edge corner preserves the natural contour of the slab exactly as it came from the tree.

Every board in our shop is hand-sanded to a smooth, silky finish, then hand-oiled and finished with a final coat of board butter to condition the wood before it leaves our shop. Because each piece is cut from solid mesquite with its own natural grain pattern, every piece tells its own story.

Care: Hand wash and dry immediately after use. Board butter and oil are a surface conditioning treatment, not a permanent seal — re-oil regularly (every few weeks with regular use) with a food-safe mineral oil or board butter to keep the wood nourished and looking its best.
